We’ve Got a Brand New Website — and We’re Pretty Excited About It

We have a new website. And I know that sounds like the kind of thing every business says before showing you something that looks exactly like their old website — but I promise this one is different. We basically started over from scratch, and I want to tell you why we did it and what it means for you.

The short version: we clean homes and businesses all over Kansas City, and for a long time our website didn't do justice to the quality of work we put in every single day. That bothered me. This is our fix.

What Crum Cleaning actually does

We cover a lot of ground — more than most people realize. Yes, we do residential cleaning. But we also handle commercial spaces, ceiling cleaning, carpet and tile, move-in and move-out cleans, and everything in between. We work with homeowners, apartment renters, restaurants, office buildings, medical facilities, retail stores, and more.

The old site made it hard to figure that out. You kind of had to dig around. So one of the first things we did with the new site was give each service its own page — with real information about what's included, who it's for, and what makes us the right choice. Whether you're a homeowner looking for a recurring clean or a facility manager who needs ceiling restoration done right, you should be able to find exactly what you need without having to call us first just to figure out if we do it. (We probably do.)

The thing I wanted people to feel

Before a single design decision was made, I sat down and really thought about what this website needs to communicate. Not just services and a phone number — but what do I want someone to feel when they land on our homepage?

A few things kept coming back to me.

This company is personal. My name is literally on the door. When you hire Crum Cleaning, you're not getting a franchise with a rotating cast of strangers. You're getting a team I personally hired, trained, and hold to a standard I'd apply to my own home. That's not something every cleaning company can say, and I wanted it to come through clearly.

You can trust us in your space. A lot of people feel a little uneasy letting someone into their home — which honestly makes sense. We wanted every part of the site to put that at ease. We're fully insured and bonded. We use non-toxic products that are safe for kids and pets. We stand behind every job with a 24-hour guarantee. These aren't marketing bullet points. They're how we actually operate, every day.

We genuinely enjoy this. I know it sounds a little cheesy, but it's true — our team loves what they do. Clients notice it. It's part of what makes Crum Cleaning different, and I wanted the site to have that same warmth instead of feeling like a cold corporate brochure.

Meet the team — for real

One of my favorite things on the new site is the Media page. We sat down with our team members and a handful of our customers and just... talked. No scripts, no retakes. You can watch Angela talk about what she loves about her job. You can hear from customers like Jeff, Dionne, Kyle, and Robert about what it's actually been like to have us in their spaces.

I think that's worth more than anything I could write on a service page. If you're on the fence about reaching out, spend five minutes on the Media page. I think it'll tell you everything you need to know about who we are.

Ask Jené

Our COO Jené Lamb-Essig has been with us long enough to have fielded just about every question a customer has ever had. What's included in a standard clean? Do you bring your own products? How far in advance do I need to book? What happens if something isn't right?

We turned all of that into a proper FAQ page — and yes, it's a little bit named after her, because she earned it. If you've got questions before you reach out, that's the place to start.

A quick note on how the site was built

We worked with Camilo Fontecilla, owner of Fontecilla Marketing — a Kansas City-based creative agency — to design and build the whole thing. Our old site ran on WordPress, which — if you've ever tried to really customize a WordPress site — you know can be a headache. Plugins fighting each other, things breaking after updates, never quite looking how you want. We scrapped all of that and built this one clean from scratch. It's fast, it works beautifully on your phone, and nothing randomly breaks on a Tuesday morning.

Working with Camilo was genuinely great. He took the time to really understand the business — who we are, who our customers are, what makes us different — before touching a single design element. And it shows. We're a Kansas City company, he's a Kansas City guy — it just worked.
